News and information from across the Web

What is RSS?

RSS is a popular way to pull in news and information from across the Web. "Really Simply Syndication" allows web sites and blogs to push content to you easily.

RSSSay you come across a blog you find fascinating. A click or two and it now feeds directly to your My Yahoo! page. Works the same for major media outlets like the New York Times as for thousands of other sites across the Web.

More of What You Want

With RSS feeds coming straight to your personal page, news is updated constantly. You don't have to visit each site individually because the headlines or brief summaries are delivered right to you.

If you'd like to see more, just click to read the full text. That's the "really simple" part. (Syndication is just the way that sites send updates out to everyone.)

Roll-Your-Own RSS News Feed

Now here's a very cool feature indeed: Create a custom feed to track anything that interests you via Yahoo! News Search. Pick a person (eg, "John Kerry"), a company ("Yahoo!"), or a specific topic ("Windsurfing"). Just type in your search terms, click the "Add-to My Yahoo!" button on the search results page and follow the simple instructions. My Yahoo! will pull the latest headlines from any site that mentions your topic and deliver them right to your page.
