Teenage Cancer Trust Reg charity no: 1062559
Who we are
Teenage Cancer Trust is dedicated to improving the lives of teenagers and young adults with cancer. The charity ensures that young cancer patients get the best possible care in hospital and the chance to do all the things that other teenagers do by funding specialist units in NHS hospitals. As well as superior medical facilities, units have day rooms, kitchens and chill-out rooms where teenagers and young people can relax and feel at home while being treated.
Teenage Cancer Trust also funds an essential education programme, delivering messages to young people about cancer, prevention and healthy living. Annually, the team reaches over 500,000 young people in schools, colleges and universities.
What we do and who we help
Teenage Cancer Trust aims to ensure that every young person with cancer and their family receives the best possible care and professional support throughout their cancer journey. We also empower young people through education and advocacy.
What we are doing now
Teenage Cancer Trust currently has nine units around the UK but the charity’s aim is to give every young person with cancer in this country access to one, which means building 14 more units by 2012. Each unit costs over £2m to build and we have to raise all of this money ourselves.
