Each year for the two weeks before the 11th November the nation expresses its unequivocal support for the Legion’s work through its generous support of the Poppy Appeal.

Millions of Poppies are distributed throughout the country by tens of thousands of volunteers.

By texting the word POPPY to 80848, supporters can download a Poppy image to their text mobile phone in return for a donation of £1.50. (at least £0.90 goes to the Poppy Appeal). Each person that gives to the appeal will also receive a free poppy wallpaper for their phone.

Our annual Poppy Appeal is the Legion’s major fundraising campaign and our aim this year is raise £32 million allowing us to continue the works that means so much to thousands of serving and ex-serving people and their families who approach The Royal British Legion every year for help.

One of the aims of this initiative is to help highlight the Legion’s essential welfare work and inform the younger generation that the Legion acts as the custodians of Remembrance as well as providing support to those in the armed services community who need our help.
