Who we are

Cancer Research UK

Cancer Research UK is the world's leading independent organisation dedicated to cancer research. We support research into all aspects of cancer through the work of more than 4,250 scientists, doctors and nurses.

What we do and who we help

We carry out scientific research to help prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. We have discovered new ways to beat the disease that have saved hundreds of thousands of lives across the world.

One in three of us will get cancer at some point in our lives. Our groundbreaking work, funded almost entirely by the general public, will ensure that millions more people survive.

What we are doing right now

Run 10k for Cancer Research

Run 10K for Cancer Research UK, supported by Tesco, is a series of 41 events held in stunning and unique locations across the country. It’s a perfect opportunity to get out into the great outdoors and raise money to help beat cancer.

All the money raised will go towards funding the work of Cancer Research UK’s 4,250 scientists, doctors and nurses to find new ways to diagnose, treat and prevent cancer.

Join 50,000 men and women who will take up the challenge this autumn to Run 10k and raise just over £5m to help fund Cancer Research UK’s vital work.

Running 10k is an achievable challenge for everyone with some training and our website aims to provide you with some great training support to ensure you cross that finish line with a huge smile and sense of achievement.
