It's a girl thing

We need your support

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK and almost 46,000 new cases are diagnosed every year.

Sadly one in nine women will develop breast cancer at some point in their lives and more than 12,300 women in the UK still die of breast cancer each year. Men can also get breast cancer but it is rare (around 300 cases are diagnosed each year).

Cancer Research UK is the largest single funder of breast cancer research in the UK.

We are committed to beating breast cancer and spent around £45 million on ground-breaking work into the disease last year.

You uploaded pink photos, Yahoo! donated

During October you uploaded your pink photos to the Pink 2008 group on flickr and helped raise €30,000 for local charities.

Yahoo! set a target of 30,000 photos and donated 1 euro for each. The €30,000 raised was split equally between 5 charities in UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy.

Cancer Research UK was the chosen charity for UK and will use the donation to fund breast cancer research.
