"My asthma feels like someone has a hammer inside me and they are banging on my chest. It really hurts" - Hari, 6, pictured.

Asthma UK is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the 5.2 million people - including 1.1 million children - in the UK with asthma.
With your help we can fund vital research to understand the causes of asthma and prevent it developing in the first place. For example:
- a study involving thousands of children across the UK that may reveal the causes of asthma in early life.
- developing guidelines for lung function measurements that will help doctors diagnose, monitor and treat young children with asthma.
With your support we can fund our vital services that help to free children with asthma from its effects. For example:
- Asthma UK's Kick Asthma educational holidays help children with asthma, like Hari (pictured), to learn more about managing their asthma
- Thousands of parents of children with asthma benefit from the Asthma UK Adviceline and website
- We want to give every child with asthma or their carers a potentially life-saving Asthma Attack Card, which provides information on how to recognise and deal with an asthma attack
