Terms and Conditions

1. This prize draw is run by Yahoo! UK Limited (company number 03244285), 125 Shaftesbury Avenue, London WC2H 8AD, United Kingdom ("Yahoo!").

2. By entering this prize draw, you agree to these terms and conditions. No purchase is necessary in order to enter the prize draw. You will be responsible for all costs and expenses relating to the prize draw, such as the cost of you accessing the Internet and any other costs associated with your participation in the prize if you win unless otherwise stated.

3. You must be over 16 and a resident of the United Kingdom & Ireland to enter into this prize draw and receive/participate in the prize if you win. Directors, officers and employees (or any of their immediate family) of Yahoo! or any of its group companies or its agencies associated with this promotion are not eligible to enter. Entrants will be deemed to be the natural person to whom the email address (provided on entry) is registered.

4. To be eligible for the prize draw, complete the official entry form, which is located at http://yahoo.co.uk/challenge (the "Microsite"). If you are not an existing Yahoo! ID holder, follow the instructions to register for a free Yahoo! ID. Follow the instructions to completely fill out and submit the ID registration form. You will then be asked to provide your first and last name, physical mailing address (no post office boxes), telephone number, and email address. You may also be asked to answer optional questions; however, they need not be answered in order to be eligible for the prize draw. Once you have registered, visit the home page of the Microsite.

Each week (each a "Drawing Period") during the promotion, a different Yahoo! Answers category will be featured. Take your best shot at answering one of the questions posed by another user in the featured category for the current Drawing Period. You will receive one entry in the prize draw for each time (a) you answer a question in the current Drawing Period’s featured category, AND (b) that answer is judged to be the "best answer" from all answers that have been given after the question has been live for 24 hours, before 23.59 hours GMT on 16th November 2006, either by the user asking the question or, if the asker doesn’t choose the Yahoo! Answers community (provided there are more than two answers to the question). The opening and closing dates for answers in each Drawing Period are set out in the table below. Details of the featured category for each Drawing Period are set out on the Microsite. "Best answers" not awarded by 23.59 hours GMT on 16th November 2006 will not be eligible for the prize draw.

5. Yahoo! is not responsible for telephone, network, electronic or computer failures or delays of any kind or for entries that are stolen, misdirected, incomplete, garbled, delayed, lost, late or damaged.

6. Yahoo! reserves the right not to include "best answers" in the prize draw where it has reasonable evidence to suggest that such "best answers" have been awarded fraudulently.

7. One winner will be randomly selected by Yahoo! via a neutral 3rd party on 7th December 2006 in each category from amongst the "best answers" awarded in each featured category by 23.59 hours GMT 16th November 2006. The winners will be announced on the Microsite and notified using their preferred method of contact as notified to us, or otherwise by email, on the 7th December 2006.

8. Winners will receive the relevant prize for the featured category described at http://yahoo.co.uk/challenge. Any pictures of prizes shown on our or our affiliate’s website are for illustration purposes only. Actual prizes may vary from the prize pictured.

The following conditions apply to all prizes that include travel: Except as specifically provided herein, travel prize packages do not include taxes, insurance, telephone charges, personal expenses, travel arrangements between winner’s home and UK or Irish airport of departure, ground transportation, gratuities, passenger facility charges (PFCs), departure taxes, incidental charges, or any other item not specifically described in these terms and conditions, and all expenses for any of the foregoing are the sole responsibility of the prize winner. For travel packages with a rental car, rental car is subject to standard rental conditions at the time of rental. All rental car drivers must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver’s licence and major credit card. Blackout dates may apply. Any optional car rental’s drop off, upgrade, insurance, taxes, and/or optional fuel charges are the sole responsibility of the prize winner. If the winner does not meet the age eligibility requirement for the rental car, he/she will be awarded the cash equivalent. All liability for the rental car shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners will be required to choose three desired departure dates, in order of preference, and will be notified of confirmation within 30 days of travel. Once confirmed, trip dates and travel accommodations cannot be changed by winner; however, travel is subject to availability, blackout dates, and/or change due to circumstances beyond Yahoo!’s control. Winner and travel companion must travel on the same dates, itinerary, and fare class. All travel in this promotion must be completed by 1st October 2007. Yahoo! reserves the right to substitute ground transportation for air transportation depending on winner’s proximity to prize destination. No extensions will be permitted, and any unused travel will be forfeited. Prizes cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer and may not be separated. All tickets issued in conjunction with travel prizes are not eligible for frequent flyer miles, and no code-share flights may be used.

9. There will be no cash alternative instead of the prizes except where specified. Unless specified, prizes will not include travel, accommodation, food or drinks or any other expenses incurred by the winner in participating or receiving the prize. The winner must also comply with any additional instructions Yahoo! provides and any third party supplier’s instructions about the prize and any third party supplier terms and conditions.

10. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, Yahoo! reserves the right to offer alternative prizes which in its sole opinion are of equal or greater value.

11. You may also write to Yahoo! after 7th December 2006 at the address above, to see if you have won a prize. Every reasonable effort will be made to contact the winners. If a winner cannot be contacted within one week of the prize draw, the prize will revert to Yahoo! and may be awarded to another entrant at Yahoo!’s absolute discretion.

12. Yahoo! will contact the winners to arrange delivery of the prize. Where Yahoo! sends the prize by post, Yahoo! does not accept any responsibility for any failure by the postal service to deliver the prizes or the winner’s failure to accept delivery of his/her prize.

13. Yahoo! may use information relating to the prize draw for marketing or promotional purposes, including use of the winner’s name and likeness. Otherwise, personal information of entrants will always be used to conduct the prize draw, for participation in the prize and in accordance with Yahoo!’s Privacy Policy, currently located at http://privacy.yahoo.com/privacy/uk.

14. Yahoo!’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. These terms and conditions and the prize draw are governed by the laws of England and the courts of England will have exclusive jurisdiction in the event of any dispute. Yahoo! may terminate these terms and conditions and the prize draw if you do not comply with any of these terms and conditions or if it becomes necessary to do so due to circumstances beyond either party’s reasonable control (or the reasonable control of any other person or party providing the prize or any aspect of the prize).
